*sigh* I love being Mom | Boise Mom

March 17th, 2012

Man.  Before I left for this evening’s event, I heard these sweet words from my boy, “I need some lovin’”.  That’s what my kids say when they need a little attention and it warms my heart every time.

He climbed up on my lap and I lightly tickled his back (that’s his favorite).  Then, he reached up with his arms, wrapped them around my neck, curled his long legs onto my lap and placed his head on my chest.  It reminded me of those days just a few years ago, when he was in the NICU, working on staying alive.  I remember spending hours upon hours with him sitting in that hospital chair in Kangaroo Care.  I would hold him the entire time I was at the hospital, never wanting to let him go.  I  waited to see his stats go up.  It was amazing to witness how he would get “better” while he was laying on my chest.  He still does that.  He gets better laying next to me.  You know what’s pretty awesome?  I get better too.  Today was a difficult day.  But holding my baby boy made it okay.

**If there are over 50 people who comment on this post, I’ll gift the Bride and Groom an 11×14**

I just loved this wedding.  So much creativity.  So much support.  So much love.

I traveled a couple of hours to Twin Falls the morning of their wedding.  As I drove up to the venue, I knew it was going to be a great day.  Not only was it entirely too beautiful, but there were all these really great, somewhat run-down buildings everywhere.  For those of you who know me, you KNOW that I love me some run-down buildings.  I also drove by this turquoise door and I knew I had to use it.  You know what makes Chelsea and I BFFs?  One of the first things she said was, “Did you see the turquoise door?  THAT’s where I want photos taken!!!”  Thank you, Dear Chelsea & Michael for letting me be a part of your day.  I am so happy for you and excited to see where you’re taken on your life-journey.  Love you both very much!!!  Enjoy your Sneak and Consider Yourselves Loved…

Venue:  The Main Event Center, Twin Falls, ID

I LOVE shooting in client’s homes.  There is just something so real, so intimate about a home.  This home was absolutely beautiful and had Miss Tammy written all.over.it.  She is a self-professed organizing junkie and an amazingly inspiring, successful woman!  Thanks, Tammy, for letting me photograph you and Regis.  He was so great – he’s a cat for the movies ;) .

2013 Spokesmodels | Boise Senior Photographer

March 7th, 2012

Yesterday was our first Senior Spokesmodel shoot.  Guess what?  It was about 32 degrees and windy, making it feel like it was actually 23 degrees.  It was SO.COLD.  So cold, as a matter of fact, that I photographed each girl for only about 10 minutes.  Literally.  My hands were frozen by the end of the shoot, but we managed to get some really amazing shots – these girls were super troopers hanging out there in the cold with me.  So, although we were anticipating a longer session, they really worked it!  Thank you, Harmony, Savannah & Anneliese for letting me photograph you lovely gals!!!  You really started my season off well!!!

Happy Happy Birthday Bayyybayyyy | Boise Wife

March 6th, 2012

Hey New Person.  Yeah, you in the Nairobi airport.  I see you smiling at me.  A friendly smile.

Hey Friend.  Yeah, you sitting next to me on the matatu on the way to Kenyatta University.  You really make me think about the big deals in life.  That sweater’s kind of funny, though.  I wonder what it would be like to be married to you. You with a dad who has two wives.  You who grew up in a remote village in the middle of Kenya.

Hey Bestie.   Yeah, the one I think I’ll never see again.  See these things falling off my face.  They’re tears.  Because I.am.terrified.  I am terrified I will never see you again.  I can’t believe I’ll never see you again.

Hey Penpal.  Yeah, you who sent me the “Marriage and the Home” booklet along with a beautiful handwritten letter.  Not ready for that.  I’m not interested right now.

Hey Love.  I received your letter.  Yeah – the one where you said, “Even though you’re the furthest you’re the closest to my heart”.  Me too.  I’m ready.

Hey Long-Distance Boyfriend.  Let’s hang out again.  Let’s do it twice, even, while you’re in England.  Then we can get married.  Sounds good?

Hey Love of my Life.  Yeah – you in the Boise airport.  You ready to get married?  In just 5 weeks?   Let’s do it.

Hey Father of my Babies.  Yeah – you who tickle, laugh, encourage, uplift, care for, and love our children.  What an amazing gift you are to us.

Hey Birthday Boy.  Yeah – you with the same friendly smile.  We sure like having you around.  Happy Birthday Baby.

Taken by the amazingly talented, Diana Palmer of Yan Photography

CreativeLive – I’m Late to the Game | Boise Photographer

March 2nd, 2012

I have fallen in love with this production.  They are Creative Live.  I first got hooked a few weeks ago, when Zach and Jody Gray were hosting a three-day workshop on Wedding Photography.  They are such a great couple with such great personalities, I knew I would love them!  So – I watched…and I watched…and I watched.  I ended up buying the weekend workshop and it was worth every penny!  This weekend, Sue Bryce, today’s modern Glamour Photographer, based out of Australia, graced us with her presence – she does such a great job making women feel absolutely gorgeous!!!  I am thoroughly enjoying the workshop, so Thank You Creative Live, for putting this on.

If you have not yet watched a Creative Live Episode, turn it on NOW!!!  You’ll love it!
