I just love this family .  What a beautiful couple and such lovely grandkids!!!  Thank you, Carissa, for letting me photograph your gorgeous family.  It was such an honor…God bless you and yours.

I have been directly affected by cancer.  Through family members and friends, it has struck me as well.  It saddens me to see all the horrid things that happen because of this nasty disease.  I feel so helpless.

Although I am unable to help in many ways, one way I am blessed to help is by donating portrait sessions and digital files to those who are living with Cancer.  I have photographed couples and families who have individuals with cancer and it has been an amazing gift to me.  I have also been privileged to donate to fundraisers assisting with medical bills of those with Cancer.  Like I said, I feel terribly helpless, but I am happy to be able to do this much.

If you know of someone who is fighting this horrible disease, or someone who was just diagnosed, or heaven forbid, someone who’s last days are near, please let them know of “Project Love”.  It is a huge blessing for me to do this for people – it’s one way that I can give back.

Okay – first, before you read the next sentence in this post, I want you to look at this photograph.  

Don’t they just radiate love?  Awww…how I love love.  

Marika was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago.  She had been in remission up until about two weeks ago when she was told that the cancer had returned and it had spread.  Before undergoing the series of treatments she will have to endure, I was privileged enough to hang out with them and document this time in their lives.  They are such an adorable couple.  It’s impossible to look at these photographs and not smile.

Marika & Erik know Jesus.  They know that God is sovereign.  They know that He loves them.  They know that prayer changes things. So, please – pray for this couple.  Pray for the miracle we know is possible.  Pray for endurance, strength and health.  If you feel inclined, pray for them in the comments, even…it is an encouragement to know that others are with them in this journey.

I had the wonderful privilege of photographing this lovely family this week! With two girls who absolutely adore each other, how could I not just have a great time? 

I photographed these girls the evening before we found out that we were having a girl and after this session, I wanted a little girl all that much more (that’s not proper grammar, is it?). It was great fun to see how Mom and Dad loved on their children. I can’t wait to take more of your photographs in the future, “A” Family!
